Summarising the Reduction of the Vices

Reducing the prevalence of behaviours and emotions that are negative to one’s being will give rise to subsequent contentment and will allow ‘inner peace’ to naturally surface. Impulses and excess indulgences are also to be considered vices in the mindful practise of reduction in addition to emotions such as anger, envy, desire, ego and so forth.

The key in this process is the self-restructuring of the mind to let go. When we let go of these vices – decluttering wants and desires in our mind – then a calm being will arise. This will allow space for individualistic virtue (especially that of self-control and moderation) to grow.
